MEG is pleased to welcome back Dr Janitha Jayawardana, after his overseas fellowship.

During 2021-2022, Dr Jayawardana underwent further sub-specialty training in Otology, Auditory Implants and Skull Base Surgery with Associate Professor Phillip Bird in New Zealand, at the University of Otago. During his time there, he gained valuable tertiary level skills in treating patients in this field under a high operative load, and published on a number of key subjects in otology. He also took the opportunity to travel widely with his young family, expanding on his hobbies of music and photography. Dr JJ returns to MEG with these additional skills, and also now has a public appointment with the Otology service at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital.

Patients and staff alike are very happy to welcome him back, along with a new set of sub-specialty skills and training.
