About Dr Paddle
Paul Paddle is an ENT surgeon , head and neck surgeon with fellowship training in Laryngology – Voice, airway and Swallowing disorders.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and surgery with honours at Melbourne University in 2003, receiving the award for top surgical candidate in his class.
In 2013 he gained fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons by completing his advanced training in Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery.
He completed a 1 year fellowship in Laryngology at Harvard University in Boston. He gained expertise in all aspects of laryngology including the care of voice, airway and swallowing disorders, operative and office-based treatments, and the use of established and innovative diagnostic and surgical techniques.
Additionally, Paul has interest and expertise in general adult and paediatric ENT conditions, minimally invasive nose and sinus surgery, snoring and sleep surgery.
Working at Monash Health and Monash Children's hospital, Paul has extensive experience managing a wide range of paediatric ENT conditions, from neonates to adolescents. He is also an active researcher in paediatric obstructive sleep apnoea and sleep disorders.
Paul also has a keen interest in public health and research, knowing the impact this can have on the care of his individual patients and the health of the greater community. He has completed a Masters of Public Health at Melbourne University in 2010, and a post-graduate diploma of Anatomy in 2006. He is currently a principle investigator in a number of clinical trials in the fields of ENT, and holds a number of research grants. He has authored a number of scientific papers, and authored a number of book chapters. He has supervised numerous honours, masters and PhD candidates, and is a regularly invited speaker and lecturer.
Paul is also a founder and CMO of a health-tech startup company: Nebula Health, which uses technology to better engage and educate patients, and improve the care experience and decrease complications. Nebula Health continues to grow and expand into other aspects of health-tech care, such as Healiox, https://healiox.com.au - a home delivery paediatric sleep screening and diagnostic service, helping children sleep better, anywhere in Australia. He is also seed investor and director of research at Akuru, which has developed the AI generative medical scribe software, I-Scribe, where he continues to strive to improve the quality of the product, and improve the efficiency of clinicians everywhere and the engagement of their patients.
Paul has appointments as an ENT surgeon at Monash Health, Epworth Richmond, Epworth Hawthorn, Bendigo Health, Echuca Regional Health and Swan Hill District Hospitals. He also consults as a Voice, Airway and Swallowing Specialist at the Melbourne Voice analysis Centre, www.mvac.com.au, and Melbourne Swallow Analysis Centre, www.melbswallow.com.au. Paul holds an Associate Professor position at Charles Sturt University, and senior lecturer positions at both Monash University and LaTrobe Universities, and is the Supervisor of ENT training at Monash Health, and Supervisor of International Medical Graduates at Bendigo Health.
Paul is a keen musician, having an Associate Diploma of Music (AmusA) in both Piano and Viola. He is a devoted husband and doting father of three young children. He has a passion for high intensity outdoor sports including skiing, cycling, and tennis.
